The Tribune-Democrat is selling posters of Monday, June 12th’s front page, featuring the Penguins’ fifth Stanley Cup trophy.
The paper’s editor said hockey plays a big role in the region, which is why they want to help people remember special events like this.
“Clearly, the fans here show up for events and get excited when the Penguins are on a run like this. And it’s rare. Nobody has repeated a Stanley Cup since the late ’90s. I think people are going to savor this for a long time,” said Chip Minemyer, the Tribune-Democrat editor.
The paper printed out 1,000 copies of the poster. They’ve already sold about half.
You can purchase them at the Tribune-Democrat office on Locust Street in Johnstown for $5 from 8 a.m.- 4 p.m.
