A transformer explosion caused a power outage in Bedford Township, Thursday, according to Bedford County Dispatch.
Dispatch said they received a call just before 7:30 p.m. that an electrical transformer exploded along Belden Road, setting some trees on fire and causing a power outage near the Walmart Distribution Center; that fire was already out by the time crews arrived on scene.
Two crews from Bedford Rural Electric are working on the power outage.
There are no reports of injuries and no word yet on the damage caused by the explosion.
