UPDATE: CSX released the following statement Friday night:
“At approximately 7:30 p.m. Friday, a CSX train headed to Cumberland, MD, derailed several railcars near Pelican Road, in Hyndman, PA. Preliminary reports indicate at least four railcars derailed, and there are no leaks or injuries reported at this time. CSX is working closely with local firefighters and other first responders to assess the situation, and the safety of the community and everyone on site is our top priority as we develop a recovery plan. The train consisted of four locomotives, 131 loaded railcars and 44 empty cars.”

CSX Railroad told Bedford County 911 four train cars derailed just south of Hyndman Friday evening.
Bedford County 911 tells us the cars are carrying hazardous materials, but there is no leakage.
Right now, Bedford County 911 says the only way in and out of Hyndman is through Hogback Road.
We’re told the derailment happened near Pelican and Cooks Mill Road.
We have a crew headed to the scene and will bring you more information as it becomes available.
