A toy drive is paying tribute to a local fallen firefighter.
The 3rd Annual Kevin Elvey Memorial Toy Drive was held Saturday night in Altoona.
Folks filled Santa’s sleigh to the brim with gifts.
It’s all to honor Elvey, an Altoona fireman who died suddenly a few years ago.
Elvey loved helping others and dressing up as Santa, so his family and fellow firefighters decided to carry on his legacy by helping families in need around the holidays.
“To see everybody come out, give support for Dad and to know that they’re supporting him, simply by supporting others, it’s just, it’s the best feeling we could get,” said the late Elvey’s son, Kevin Elvey II.
All the donations will be dropped off at the Salvation Army.
