The people of Tyrone gathered to celebrate Labor Day with a picnic.

Local organizations including the Boy Scouts, the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs all sold food. Chicken, ribs and hot dogs were cooked on the grill at Reservoir Park. There was also entertainment and games for the kids.

“Personally, I love events like this,” Tyrone Mayor Bill Latchford said. “Anything that gets the community together is a fabulous event in my book.

“To celebrate today is important because everyone works so hard, they deserve another day off. I love seeing the people running around and having a good time.”

The mayor is happy to see so many groups using the park.
