The Altoona 2019 dog license sale starts Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Altoona residents must license their dogs annually and can do so at multiple locations.

A 2019 dog license can be purchased at City Hall at 1301 12th Street from the Finance Department between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Licenses can also be purchased at Fiore True Value Hardware at 5514 6th Avenue.

A regular license costs $12. If the dog is spayed or neutered, there is a discounted price of $9 for the license.

A lifetime dog license can only be purchased at City Hall. A regular lifetime license costs $70 and costs $54 if the dog is spayed or neutered.

There are discounts available for elderly or disabled residents.
