$305,000 worth of grants were awarded to local community groups in Blair County today.
The United Way of Blair County awarded those grants to 27 groups that are involved with health, education and finance. Executive Director Melanie Shildt says it’s the community that makes these awards possible.
“I’d like to thank the community very much for their continuous support throughout the years,” she said. “We couldn’t do this without the community support and the generous donations we have received from them.”
The money for these grants is from The United Way of Blair County’s Annual Campaign.
