It was Hugs for Hounds day today at Penn State Altoona.
Registered therapy dogs and pets from faculty were on hand to provide the special kind of stress relief that only dogs can offer.
Today was the third Hugs for Hounds Day of the year on campus.
“The health benefits to being with a dog, especially when you feel stressed or maybe feel overwhelmed is ginormous so we’re really looking forward to having hugs for hounds more ingrained in our campus community,” said Jessica Hancock, Mental Health Outreach Coordinator, Penn State Altoona.
Hancock says she hopes that someday a therapy dog can become a permanent fixture at the Health and Wellness Center on campus.
