ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) — Rep. Lou Schmitt (R-Blair) has awarded the Altoona Area School District a state grant in the amount of $136,552 to improve safety and security in the building.
The funding was made available through a new $60 Million grant program created as part of a comprehensive school safety bill included in the 2018-19 state budget.
No parent should ever have to worry about their childrens safety when they send them off to school. This funding will enable the school district to enhance its sercurity efforts in order to provide a safer learning environment for students, faculty and staff”
