The streets of Bedford County were filled with beds as teams competed in the Bedford Bed Races.

This was an event that started many years ago, but then stopped around the late 1980s. It’s a tradition Downtown Bedford Incorporated wanted to bring back.

Some took the event more serious than others, but no matter how your bed was built, the event helped to bring the community together.

All beds were required to have four functional wheels. No motors of any kind were allowed.

Cash prizes were given to the winning team.
