Tarnished priests names removed

The University of Scranton is renaming three buildings that are currently named in honor of three former Bishops from the diocese.

The first is being renamed in honor of a late Archbishop of San Salvador.

Another building in honor of an Australian nun who publicly exposed sex abuse of children.

And the third will be renamed Giblin-Kelly Hall, after two former students who passed away. One died on 9/11. The other was killed while on spring break in Panama City.

The president of the University of Scranton says the change is needed because all three Bishops covered up crimes of priests and placed children in harm’s way.
