Investigators have identified the teenager who was violently murdered in the Old Conemaugh Borough in Johnstown on Thanksgiving Day. The victim’s alleged killer is now behind bars.
Cambria County officials say the victim is Deontaye Hurling, 19, who lived in Johnstown, Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
Detectives said a friend found Hurling’s body inside a home on Steel Street on Thanksgiving night, then called police.
The coroner said Hurling died from stab wounds to his chest and back. Police also said Hurling was assaulted with a fish tank.
“This was a violent attack on our victim,” said Jeff Lees, the Cambria County coroner.
This is the fourth homicide of 2018 in Cambria County.
Detectives believe Hurling’s death is drug-related.
The suspect, Paul Lehman, 36, was arrested on Friday and is facing criminal homicide and aggravated assault charges.
