It’s almost time for Summer in the City for students in the Greater Johnstown School District.

The program was in danger of being canceled due to lack of funding, but the district received enough private donations and Title I funding to keep it running this year. It will be run through the Cambria County Child Development Corporation for about $149,000.

Summer in the City provides tutoring, field trips and outdoor activities like swimming and sports to K-6th grade students.

The program is free for students in the district. Free breakfast and lunch are also provided.

The program runs from 9am-3pm Monday through Thursday from July 5th- August 10th.

This year, the program will be held at the middle school building and the high school.
