There’s encouraging news about a  suicide prevention project underway in our region. The Blair County Commissioners learned Tuesday that the project may be ahead of schedule.

It’s a free app anyone can use to help assess whether a friend or loved one is considering suicide. The app will contain questions from a suicide severity rating scale and links to agencies that can help.

The developer already has a working app that’s being tested. That means the program could be ready to go live in early spring.
