Thursday night, WTAJ is joining the Tribune Democrat for a political forum. Johnstown’s mayoral and city council candidates will debate the important issues facing the city. It’s the students who will be asking the questions.
“I love for my students to be strong, civic-minded citizens. I want them all to register to vote, which I help them with as well. I want them to participate and care about their community. Learning about what the mayor does, what city council does will spark interest. I think I’ll be able to influence a lot of these students to be active participants when they become adults and beyond,” said Dan Tomak, a Social Studies teacher at Greater Johnstown High School.
The primary election is Tuesday, May 16. Thursday’s debate at Greater Johnstown High School begins at 7 p.m.
