A string of robberies have police and shop owners on high alert.

In the past few weeks police have investigated six armed robberies.

Five of them happened in Blair County and the latest target was in Cambria County.

We got a copy of the surveillance video where you can see a man walking into the Puff n Snuff Discount Tobacco store in Cresson Township Saturday night with a gun in his hand.

“I felt threatened when I saw the gun pointed at me,” Patty Ball, the store manager, said.

The suspect pointed his weapon at her and demanded money. Ball started grabbing it out of the register. The robber eventually reached over the counter and watched the cashier gather the money from both drawers.

“I just gave him whatever he wanted,” Ball said.

Employees at local convenience stores are now keeping an eye out. The robberies have the community on edge.

“This store here is very secured,” an employee at Fe-Fi’s Grocery said. “There’s not a place in here that a camera is not on you. I don’t want to get hurt. I’ve got kids to go home to every night. A lot of people do.”

Police said the best thing to do in an armed robbery situation is to comply with whatever the individual says to do. No amount of money is worth your safety.

“I was shocked,” Ball said. “I was terrified. I never thought it would happen.”

The suspect is always described as a white man, approximately 6 feet tall. He’s said to be wearing a dark sweatshirt, jeans, and sneakers. However, despite the similarities, police haven’t confirmed if any of these cases are connected.

No one has been injured in any of these robberies.
