State High is holding its Diversity Week Luncheon Series this week to promote equity and inclusivity.
Speakers will give three presentations from noon to 2 p.m. during each lunch block in the Large Group Instruction room. Faculty, staff and students are invited to attend and bring their lunch while they listen to the speakers.
This is the schedule for each talk this week:
February 4
Dr. Jason Gines, Penn State’s Director of Office of Inclusion and Diversity Engagement,
gave a talk titled “Overcoming Conversational Chaos in Diversity Dialogues”.
February 5
Morgan Wasikonis, Executive Director of Housing Transitions, gave a talk on “The Economics of Housing Insecurity.”
February 6
Brian Patchcoski, Director of LGBTQA Student Resource Center, Penn State, will give a talk on “Sexual & Gender Diversity: Creating & Making Space for LGBTQA+
Communities.”
February 7
Dr. Seria Chatters, Director of Equity and Inclusivity at SCASD, will give a talk on “Death by a Thousand Paper Cuts: Microaggressions in Everyday Life.”
February 8
Dr. Nalini Krishnankutty, writer and researcher, will give a talk on “How Immigrants Shaped the United States.”
