State College restaurant cooking up fan favorites for annual Blue-White Game

Prospector’s Mount Nittany Rib Company in State College will be cooking some fan favorites at the annual Blue-White Game on Saturday.

“I’ve been into barbecue since 1989,” Marc Fetters, co-owner of Prospector’s Mount Nittany Rib Company, said. “I just enjoy doing it and I love my relationship with this community and with Penn State.”

The business is known for its barbecue food. Not just at the restaurant, but also on gamedays at Beaver Stadium.

“We take the orders and people come to our booth to meet us and then we’ll pull their wagon full of food to their tailgate if they’re within our delivery area,” Fetters explained.

Every day is pretty busy at the restaurant. Orders are constantly coming in, but nothing quite compares to when they’re preparing food for tailgates.

They’re pretty popular in Nittany Nation.

“If it’s a big game we can do up to 1,000 racks of ribs at the stadium,” Fetters said. “We sell up to 1,000 pounds of pulled pork on a game day.”

Prospector’s Mount Nittany Rib Company are currently taking orders for Blue-White weekend, but because of the parking situation it is pick-up only.
