One man is in the hospital after trying to stab himself with a knife after being released from State Police.
Police responded last Thursday to a fight in Somerset. On December 27, at 1 a.m., 35-year-old Matt Martin took custody of 41-year-old Jason Martin from State Police at a local bar.
When the two men returned to Matt’s house, Jason took a knife from his pocket and tried to stab himself in the neck, threatening suicide. Matt wrestled the knife away and fought with Jason.
When police arrived, they found both men on the ground of the garage.
Jason was extremely intoxicated and bleeding, and was taken to Somerset Hospital for evaluation. A 302 warrant was signed by one of the officers because Matt refused to sign Jason in.
Jason will be charged with summary Criminal Mischief following his evaluation.
