RIDGWAY, ELK COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ)– Organizers, vendors and chainsaw carvers are getting ready for the 20th Annual Ridgway Chainsaw Carvers Rendezvous.

“Today is just mostly get the field set up so when the carvers come in, they have some place to set, get the log pile ready, just basically preparation for the carvers to come in,” Robin Boni said.

More than 60 carvers from around the world will showcase their talents during the Rendezvous.

“You’re going to see really diverse styles of work from people who speak a few different languages,” carver Douglas Ryan said. “It’s an exceptional event for this area without a doubt.”

Event coordinator Liz Boni said the event brings lots of business to the area because it attracts people from all over.

“The restaurants, the stores, the specialty shops, all of them feel that this is one of the best times that they have all year,” Liz Boni said. “When you’re a small community, it’s hard, so you need to do things that bring economic growth into the area.”

The Rendezvous kicks off Thursday, April 25 at 10 a.m. and runs through Sunday.
