In Kennedy Township near Pittsburgh, the cold took it’s toll on a group of senior citizens.

A water pipe burst at the Willows Senior Living Community, forcing at least 70 residents to evacuate into the cold last night.

The red cross came to help out. The pipe rupture caused structural damage to the facility, so they weren’t able to go back inside.

Hospice patients were taken to a nearby hospital.

Staff at the center say many of the residents would spend the night with loved ones.

The others would be taken to a fire hall for shelter.

Everyone was expected to be allowed back in this morning.
