The government shutdown has now entered day 34.

Pennsylvania’s U.S. Senator Bob Casey has weighed in and is now trying to help those affected.

He stopped by the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank Wednesday in Harrisburg.

Federal workers there are could use some help. They’re still not getting paid.

Casey said President Trump needs to stop holding 800,000 workers hostage over funding for a southern border wall.

“If he is really focused on border security, he would listen to the experts and his own custom and border control people who say let’s start the inspections at ports of entry…that is how you stop the bad people from coming in and the drugs from coming in,” said Senator Casey.
