A heads up for drivers in the state college area:
Starting tonight, PennDOT is closing down part of Interstate 99 heading north as part of the Waddle Road construction project.
Between 10:00 p.m. tonight through 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning, north bound traffic will need to follow a detour.
Northbound traffic will be diverted to the northbound on/off ramps. The traffic signals at the ramp’s intersection will be controlled by flaggers.
The project includes many improvements such a new, wider Waddle Road bridge and the addition of a turning lane on the Route 322 westbound off-ramp.
Drivers are asked to pay close attention while traveling through the construction zone.
Delays are likely.
