It’s a very special thank you that some area students are sending the way of our veterans.

This morning at Ferndale Area High School, Cambria County Commissioner Tom Chernisky along with the American Red Cross were holding Holiday Mail for Heroes.

Elementary, middle and high school students made holiday cards for active service members overseas, and veterans here at home.

Even more special, Ferndale High School Principal Travis Robison is a veteran himself who served overseas.

They’ll continue the Holiday Mail for Heroes Program Wednesday, with stops to pick up more cards at Northern Cambria Middle School and Cambria Heights Elementary.
