ALTOONA, Pa. (WTAJ) —  A new shop just opened up in Altoona where you can satisfy your sweet tooth.

Rita’s Italian Ice is open for business in the Bedford Candies shop at the Pleasant Valley Shopping Center in Altoona.

The owner of the shop, Tammy Wiley, said even if you have dietary restrictions, everybody can find something they can enjoy there.

“Rita’s has a nice program because it’s gluten free, it’s a lactose-free and there’s a sugar-free. Every ice isn’t, but there’s certainly a selection, so everybody that’s out there struggling with either sugar or the gluten allergy or the lactose, it’s a great product to be able to have,” she said.
