Today, area residents and activists plan to gather outside Senator Pat Toomey’s Johnstown office to hold what they’re calling a “people’s hearing.”
That “hearing” will focus on the new Republican healthcare bill introduced last week by Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, and Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana.
A spokesman for those residents released a statement saying they’re worried about what that bill could do to people with disabilities, preexisting conditions, and smaller incomes in our area.
They say they’re afraid that the Republican plan could take away healthcare coverage from at least a million Pennsylvanians, and cost the state billions of dollars.
The “people’s hearing” will begin today at noon outside of Senator Toomey’s office at 1397 Eisenhower Boulevard in Johnstown.
