A local representative is recovering after a stroke.

Representative John McGinnis (R-79th District) is scheduled to be released from UPMC Altoona on Tuesday, November 21st.

He was admitted to the hospital on Saturday, November 18th, with stroke-like symptoms. Testing confirmed McGinnis had a moderate stroke.

According to his office, McGinnis is in good spirits. They say he is expected to make a full recovery according to his doctors.

McGinnis’ district office, located at 1331 12th Avenue, Suite 104, Altoona, will remain open during his recovery.
