Release appealed for man who threatened V.P. Pence

A judge’s decision to release a Somerset County man charged with threatening Vice President Mike Pence has been appealed.

William Dunbar, 22, is charged with threatening to kill Vice President Pence before his visit to the Flight 93 Memorial on September, 11.

During a detention hearing Tuesday, Judge Pesto ruled to release Dunbar from jail until his trial.

The U.S. Attorney’s office filed an appeal of that ruling on Wednesday.

Judge Gibson will now review the transcript form Tuesday’s hearing and make a decision or request another hearing.

Dunbar will remain at the Cambria County Jail until further notice.
