Rape suspect contacted teen victims via Snapchat

Altoona Police have arrested a rape suspect who used Snapchat to communicate with his teen victims before assaulting them.

Officials arrested 22-year-old Jeffery Guo on Thursday after he allegedly raped two 13-year-old girls.

They said Guo used Snapchat to communicate with the girls, and eventually lured them to the Motel 6, where they said he sexually assaulted them.

Police said Guo posed as a teenaged boy on Snapchat, and told the girls he would give them alcohol and marijuana. They added he sent naked photos to the teens.

“Mr. Guo is a predator. He was preying on 13-year-old girls and acting as a 16-year-old boy,” Sergeant Matthew Plummer with the Altoona Police Department said.

Investigators said Guo eventually lured the girls into meeting him at the Logan Valley Mall. That’s when they said he took the teens to a nearby Motel 6, and raped them.

“In today’s society, a lot of people meet over social media, over text messages. they never meet face to face. anybody can be whoever they want to be on the other side of the cell phone. you don’t know exactly who yo’re talking about or who yo’re talking to,” Sgt. Plummer said.

Police were contacted Wednesday afternoon by one of the girl’s parents, after they lured Guo to their house through their daughter’s Snapchat.

Police believe there could be other victims out there, and they are conducting a search warrant on Guo’s phone to see how many girls he was talking with. They also have search warrant for Guo’s car, backpack and the Motel 6 room where the assaults allegedly happened.

Altoona Police want parents to check their daughters’ Snapchat account for Guo’s account, AdamG. If you see this name on their friends list, contact police.
