The Pennsylvania Game Commission is urging everyone to be aware of wildlife, after two cases of rabies were reported in Centre County.
Those incidents happened within a week of each other, when residents in Lemont were approached by wild foxes.
Both foxes were tested positive for rabies and euthanized.
A wildlife conservation officer says the bottom line is with any wild animal should be that you can look but not touch.
“There are rabid animals in our area and there’s a possibility that it can spread to domestic animals as well…It’s a very dangerous virus, it’s not something that you want to have contact with,” says Mike Steingraber, Wildlife Conservation Officer with the PA Game Commission
