A Somerset County Prison guard has been accused of teaming up with an Altoona drug dealer to smuggle narcotics into the prison he worked for.

According to the Altoona Mirror, Shawn Kirkpatrick has been charged with smuggling Suboxone, Synthetic Marijuana, and Xanax into the prison at the request of convicted drug dealer, Akil Johnson.

Officials allegedly witnessed multiple drug transactions between Kirkpatrick and several others.

He was charged with several crimes last Thursday. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 this Thursday morning.
