A prescribed burn blew out of control Tuesday afternoon in Burnside Township, Centre County.

Centre County dispatch tells WTAJ  the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) alerted them Tuesday morning, saying they would burn about 160 to 170 acres.

However, the DCNR later requested help from Centre, Clearfield, and Clinton County fire departments when the fire blew out of control.

Centre County dispatch says their crews left the scene over night.

WTAJ has reached out to the DCNR Bureau of Forestry, but did not get a response yet.

We’re working to get more information and will bring you the latest as it becomes available.
