The postal service needs your help feeding folks in need through their annual food drive.
You are encouraged to leave out dry goods, canned goods, and anything else you think a family in need could use.
Postal workers and folks from the Blair-Bedford Central Labor Council will pick them up on Saturday.
“Everybody gives their entire day. It’s a lot of soreness at the end of the day because some of those containers can be really heavy when they’re full of cans, but it’s all for a good cause,” Bob Kutz, President of the council, said.
Kutz added local food banks need more supplies, especially after the recent holidays.
“They were pretty well hit for Easter, and now, it’s time to build them up for summer. The kids are gonna be home, and it would be a great time for those who need to be able to go get,” he said.
On average, they gather between 27 to 28 tons of food each year.
