The Bellefonte Police Department is warning people about a scam.
Police say the victim got a call from someone claiming to be from West Penn Power. They were told they had 45 minutes to pay a bill with a credit or debit card or their electricity would be shut off.
Authorities are warning this is a very complex scam, that involves a realistic callback number.
If you get a similar call, you should contact West Penn Power and also call police.
