Police in Somerset County are searching for a suspect who stole a cow, butchered it, then left its body along a road.

Investigators say someone stole a 1500 pound Holstein dairy cow from Pennwood Farms in Berlin sometime between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday morning.

Investigators say the suspect then killed the cow and butchered it: removing its hind quarters, front shoulders and ear tags. That suspect then left the cow’s body on the side of Sugar Grove School Road.

State Police are asking for the public’s help to find the suspect. A reward is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest and conviction. Call in tips at: 814-445-4104.
