UPDATE:  On the night of the shooting, Nicole Abrino said she and Witmer were having a “normal night” and there were “no red flags.” The two were previously out having dinner.

Witmer had a license to carry for the 9mm gun he had that night. After the bartender noticed Witmer fumbling with it that’s when Abrino tried to interject and leave with Witmer.

There was no known mental illness and Witmer was honorably discharged from the Army.

Abrino was the first one to be shot while handing him his jacket. She then dialed 911 as she saw Witmer shoot Dean Beachy before collapsing.

First responders and police were on scene in less than minutes.

As for Witmer’s blood alcohol and the fact that he shouldn’t have been served, the police have turned over their findings to the State Police Bureau of Liqour Control.

Abrino is currently recovering and after various procedures, will have a bullet lodged in her spine that doctors will not operate on. She currently cannot walk without assistance from braces, crutches, etc…

Police do not believe any of this was premeditated.

Updated April 3, 2019, after a news conference with District Attorney Bernie Cantorna

State College Police have concluded that the four victims in the State College shooting earlier this month were randomly shot and that the suspect’s blood alcohol content was three times the legal limit.

Just before the shooting, Jordan Witmer, 21, came back from the bathroom and was met by Nicole Abrino, 21, whom he was there with. They were about to leave P.J. Harrigan’s when it is believed that Witmer shot Abrino as he was standing next to her.

Witmer then shot Dean and Steven Beachy. Dean, 61, died immediately and Steven, 19, died shortly after from the injuries.

There is no evidence to suggest either man was in an argument with Witmer or Abrino. Whitmer then ran from the bar, shooting a mannequin on the way out.

George McCormick, 83, was also shot by Witmer and had no relationship with him. It’s believed that Witmer randomly chose their house after he crashed his car.

McCormick died immediately.

Jordan Witmer took his life with his own gun.

Nicole Abrino has survived her injuries.

A toxicology report showed that Witmer’s blood alcohol content was .223 percent, almost three times the legal limit. No other drugs were in his system.
