DUBOIS, Pa. (WTAJ)– PennDOT is reminding drivers to look twice for motorcyclists now that warmer weather is here.

PennDOT teamed up with City of DuBois police and Pennsylvania Motorcycle Safety Program (PAMSP) at DuBois Harley-Davidson.

They want drivers to be on the lookout for motorcycles now that warmer weather is here.

“We’ve all been driving and think we’re clear to make a lane change until you turn your head and see there was in fact a car or motorcycle in your blindspot,” Officer said. “So you can’t look enough, check your mirrors, turn your head around, check multiple times.”

PAMSP also offers free license and training courses for motorcyclists of all skill levels.

“A number of students that I’ve had have been riding 10, 20 years before they take the course,” Bobby Fitzmayer with PAMSP said. “When they finish, I’ve never had a student tell me they hadn’t learned something or picked something up in the course. there’s always something more to learn for a motorcyclist.”

May is Motorcyle Safety Awareness Month.
