Johnstown Police are investigating a shooting that happened around 5:20 p.m. Saturday night.

We’re told it happened on the 600 block of Fronheiser street in the Hornerstown section of the city. Officers had to shut down the road as they combed the area for evidence.

At this time details are limited, but neighbors told us they heard several shots fired. Officials told WTAJ News that one person has been taken to the hospital is expected to recover.

Johnstown police Captain Jeff Janciga called on the public to help solve the case. He released a statement saying:

“The victim is expected to recover. Detectives continue to investigate. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Johnstown Police Department. Once again, assistance from the public will bring this incident to a close and will make this community a safer place for us all.”
