Police in Bedford are investigating after an elementary school student brought a knife on a school bus.

Police say a student found that paring knife on the floor of the bus when it arrived at Bedford Elementary School Thursday morning.

The bus driver took the knife and immediately told the school administration and police.

After investigating, officers found out which student brought the knife.

The school district cannot comment on the punishment for this specific case, but says it’s policy is to seek criminal charges and suspend any student who brings a weapon to school for at least three days.
