INDIANA, Pa. (WTAJ) — State Police are investigating after a four-month-old was shot inside a home in Indiana County.

State Police report today that after extensive investigating, they believe the child was accidentally shot by his 21-year-old father. They report that they do believe the child, the father, and the mother were the only people in the apartment.
Police believe the shot that was fired from the 9mm handgun was an accident and not done intentionally.
When the investigation is complete, it will be provided to the Indiana County District Attorney’s Office for review and a prosecutorial decision.
Police say the incident happened on College Lodge Road in White Township shortly after 6:00 p.m. Saturday, February 1. The four-month-old sustained a single gunshot wound to the upper body, according to police.
Police say the child is at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in stable condition.
According to police, they are not looking for any suspects and there is no threat to the public.
The incident remains under investigation.
