Police say Ronald Cichenelli Jr. is behind the thefts of several Cambria County military grave markers.

Cichenelli was arrested Saturday in Waterloo, N.Y. after attempting to sell the Ebensburg markers, and is now being held in Seneca County Jail.

The desecration, theft or sale of venerated objects, like grave markers is a second degree misdemeanor under Pennsylvania law.

In a news release from the Department of Veteran Services, Pennsylvania State Representative, Frank Burns said, “I hope this sends a clear message, that when you steal from a veteran’s grave, we will come at you with the full force of the law.”

Police are still trying to identify who these markers belong to.
