The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board is investing $1 million in an effort to develop and promote wines grown in the state. The PLCB announced Wednesday that it’s granting the funds for 13 projects intended to enhance the Pennsylvania wine industry and increase production of wines in the state.

Most of the money, $800,000 of it, is going to the Pennsylvania Winery Association for promotions. Penn State’s College of Agricultural Sciences is getting $185,000 for research into wine quality, pest control, and growing conditions.
