(CBS) — Sprint and T-Mobile have teamed up to fight robocalls on their customers’ phones.

Both companies will now be able to verify the authenticity of calls coming from each other’s networks.

The latest safeguard uses a system called shaken-stir, which sends the call receiver an alert that verifies the call is real.

The process is meant to protect against repeating spam and robocalls.
