PennDOT is being recognized for two national awards in leadership and system achievements.
The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials presented the President’s Transportation Award for Performance Excellence, and an Exemplary Systems in Government (ESIG) Award.
Secretary Leslie S. Richards said she is proud of the PennDOT family’s accomplishments and gratified that their hard work in service to Pennsylvanians has not gone unnoticed.
The department’s awards are attributed to exemplary service performance during the year, contributing to cost savings to taxpayers, efficiency gains for employees, and better customer service to the public.
The awards are also based from a collaborated effort on proposed automated vehicle policy and legislation, and continued public and stakeholder engagement through demonstrations and events.
