A Penn State religious organization plans to expand into a new space.

Penn State Hillel, an organization that looks to enrich the lives of Jewish students, will be moving to a 18,000-square-foot space in the Beaver Avenue Development.

The development is currently under construction at the corner of Garner Street and Beaver Avenue. Penn State Hillel plans to move into their new space in 2021.

Organizational leadership spoke to the advantages of this downtown location.

“I think it is an incredible opportunity to be at the epicenter where students live, work, and play,” said Aaron Kaufman, Executive Director, Penn State Hillel. “We’re right near the hub downtown, right near the Honors College, right near the apartments and where fraternity houses are. It’s in the heart of everything in regard to campus life.”

Hillel serves over 5,000 Jewish students from Penn State, and they hope to expand that number in the future.
