BROOKVILLE, Jefferson County, Pa. (WTAJ)– Some Jefferson County parents are concerned over a Facebook post that says two students arrested for making shooting threats were released.

It’s been a month since two Brookville students were arrested for making threats against Brookville Junior/Senior High School.

Jenny Curry said her son was one of the students who stepped forward to report the threat.

“Whether it was real or not, it was very scary,” Curry said. “The details that my son had were very, very scary.”

She said one of the students contacted her son on XBox Live Saturday and said both were out of juvenile detention.

“I was very shocked to hear that these boys knew that my son had done something,” Curry said.

Curry said her son has faced threats and bullying after making the report.

Curry decided to share what happened on Facebook.

Since then, the post has been shared nearly 2,000 times– gaining the attention of other parents in the district.

“What kind of world do we live in if you’re like ‘go ahead and tell something,’ but then he’s going to get tormented for it, that’s ridiculous,” Amy Bogush said.

“My husband and I have been very appreciative of everybody’s concern, and just very thankful,” Curry said.

The Jefferson County district attorney’s office would not comment whether these students have been released.

We also reached out to the school district, and haven’t heard back.
