PennDOT is pleased to announce the winners of the District 9 “Paint the Plow” contest which wrapped up Tuesday.

Each county has a “Fan Favorite” and Judges Pick winner. The judges pick was chosen by a panel of judges in each county. The “Fan Favorite” was chosen by Facebook users by “liking” their favorite in the contest photo albums on the PennDOT Facebook page. The winners are:

Bedford County
Judges Pick: Tussey Mountain High School

Blair County
Judges Pick: Greater Altoona Career and Technology (Sloth)
Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Hollidaysburg Area High School 

Cambria County
Judges Pick: Conemaugh Valley High School
Facebook “Fan Favorite”: Northern Cambria High School

Huntingdon County
High School Judges Pick: Southern Huntingdon High School

Elementary Judges Pick: Standing Stone Elementary

Somerset County

Fulton County did have one school, Forbes Road High School, participate in the program, no formal judging took place.

“Each school that participated in the program did an outstanding job,” said District Executive, Thomas A. Prestash. “The students really showed their artistic abilities and we had some very close judging this year. We look forward to next year’s competition.”

The plows will be mounted to a plow truck in the areas of the respective school districts for the upcoming winter season.
