A Pennsylvania man is in custody after authorities said he left two pounds of marijuana inside of an Uber car.

Police said Malik Mollett booked an Uber ride near Pittsburgh and allegedly left a bag behind.

We’re told he got a hold of Uber later through email and asked them to somehow get him his items back.

Officers said the Uber driver was getting ready to return the bag but looked inside and found two pounds of marijuana, unintentionally left in his backseat and called police.

Troopers found Mollett’s number in Uber records and reached out to him, pretending to be his driver, even sending him a picture of the bag to ensure it was his.

They then met up at a McDonald’s on Route 30 in North Huntingdon.

“I think he even made a reference to how much of this did you guys smoke? And the undercover officer that we had dropping it off said they did not consume any of his marijuana. And he could have it back if this is his. He acknowledged it was his. And at that point in that, our undercover officer walked away and the other undercover officers that were in the restaurant took him into custody,” said Trooper Steve Limani.

Mollett is being held on $150,000 bail.
