Pennsylvania will get $1.4 million dollars from the maker of Tylenol. That’s the state’s share of a $33 million dollar settlement with the McNeil company over tainted drugs and false advertising.
The state attorney general’s office says McNeil recalled hundreds of millions of packages of drugs manufactured between 2009 and 2011, including many for children. The medications included Tylenol, Motrin, Benadryl, St. Joseph Aspirin, Sudafed, Pepcid, Mylanta, Rolaids, Zyrtec and Zyrtec Eye Drops.
The recalls followed reports that the medicines had a strange odor and that particles had been found in liquid medicines.
The AG’s Office says the settlement money will be used to fund future consumer protection efforts across the Commonwealth.
