Pa. (WTAJ) —  If you’re a deer hunter then your season will start earlier than usual this year.

This morning the PA Game Commission voted 5-3  to change the start date of deer season from the Monday after Thanksgiving to the Saturday after.

Despite some hunters that were against it, the commission decided it would be more beneficial to make the move.

The Game Commission hopes that the move would not disrupt any Thanksgiving Holiday plans and create more opportunities for younger hunters.

The change will take effect immediately for the 2019 season.
